Hollywood East made history when Wilmington spawned several number one hits at the box office in one year including the largest production to date, Iron Man 3 as well as The ConjuringSafe Haven and We are the Millers

Just a Few of Hollywood East's Film Credits:

The Choice (2016)
This Nicholas Sparks adaptation tells the story of two young neighbors who fall in love and their world is turned upside down by a horrific accident.  Scenes from the movie took place at Dockside Restaurant in Wrightsville Beach, Airlie Gardens, and Brasserie du Soleil at Lumina Station.

Max Steel (2016)
This action adventure, with scenes filmed on Dock Street, tells the story of teen Max McGrath (Ben Winchell) and his alien companion Steel, who must combine their tremendous new powers to evolve into the turbo-charged superhero Max Steel.

The Longest Ride (2015)
This romantic tale, based off of a Nicholas Sparks novel, was filmed in various locations including the Cameron Art Museum and tells the story of two star-crossed lovers who unexpectedly cross paths with a much older man as he reflects back on his long lost love.

Iron Man 3Iron Man 3 (2013)
Iron Man 3 was filmed primarily at EUE/Screen Gems Studios; starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley and Don Cheadle among others. The third installment centers on when Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.

We're the MillersWe're the Millers (2013)
This film, starring Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts and Jason Sudeikis, is about a veteran criminal that creates a fake family as part of his master plan. Scenes were shot in downtown Wilmington and Carolina Beach State Park.

The ConjuringThe Conjuring (2013)
The Conjuring, filmed in a Wilmington countryside home, made a record for biggest opening for an original R-rated horror movie. Directed by James Wan and starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, this production is based on the true story of a couple who investigate paranormal activity outside a small Rhode Island farmhouse.

Safe Haven (2013)
Stars Julianne Hough and Josh Duhmael filmed sequences for Safe Haven at the Wilmington Convention Center and Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. This screen adaptation of Nicholas Spark's popular novel is about young woman with a mysterious past who lands in Southport, North Carolina where her bond with a widower forces her to confront the dark secret that haunts her.

TV Credits:

Good Behavior (2016)
TNT brings this thriller starring Michelle Dockery (of Downton Abbey), and based on books by Wayward Pines author Blake Crouch. It tells the story of Letty Dobesh (Dockery), a thief and a con artist fresh out of prison, attempting to stay afloat. She overhears a hitman (Juan Diego Botto) being hired to kill a man’s wife, and sets out to derail the job, which sets her on a collision course with the killer and entangles them in a dangerous and seductive relationship.

SIX (2016-)
Wilmywood welcomes the History Channel to town with SIX, a series that tells story of the Navy SEAL team inspired by true events.  The first season will follow the SEAL unit on a fictional 2014 mission to Afghanistan to eliminate a Taliban leader. The mission goes south and they discover a U.S. citizen working with the terrorists. “I thought about how would our world react and it brought on the idea of creating a series about the world of SEAL Team Six because the story felt as poignant and timely as ever,” said producer Harvey Weinstein, who explained that each season will feature a different theatre of war.

Secrets and Lies (2015-)
Juliette Lewis and Ryan Phillippe starred in the first season of this mystery thriller about a man who finds the body of a young boy and quickly becomes the prime murder suspect, putting his life and his family at risk. Filming in Wilmington included Cape Fear Community College and the old Atlantic Coast Railway building that houses the Wilmington Railroad Museum & the Visitors Bureau.

Under the Dome (2013-2015)

Under the Dome was a TV adaption of author Stephen King's sci-fi thriller where a mysterious force field descended upon a small fictional town in the United States and trapped residents inside, cutting it off from the rest of civilization. Scenes of this show were filmed at Greenfield Lake Park and Cape Fear Community College.

Sleepy Hollow (2013-)
With the perfect setting for a historical backdrop, FOX's Sleepy Hollow filmed in several locations around Wilmington such as the Bellamy Mansion, Kenan Fountain and Bellevue Cemetery.  In this series, Ichabod Crane is resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers.

Revolution (2012-2014)
Starring Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridakos and Giancarlo Exposito, Revolution wondered what would happen if electricity just stopped working. Fifteen years after a permanent global blackout, a group of revolutionaries seeks to find out what happened. You'll recognize many local places in Season One.

Eastbound & Down (2009-2013)
Starring Danny McBride, Steve Little, and Katy Mixon, HBO's Eastbound & Down tells the story of Kenny Powers (McBride), a burned-out major league ballplayer who returns to teach phys-ed at his old middle school, years after he turned his back on his hometown. Notable scenes include Blue Post Billiards, Schaeffer BMW and Cameron Art Museum.

One Tree HillOne Tree Hill (2003-2012)

One Tree Hill debuted in 2003 and was filmed at EUE/Screen Gems Studios and on location in the region, until the show wrapped production in 2011. This series starred Chad Michael Murray, Sophia Bush and James Lafferty among others and followed the eventful lives of some high-school kids in Tree Hill, a small but not too quiet town in North Carolina, where the greatest source of pride is the high school basketball team, the Ravens.

Dawson's Creek  (1998-2003)

Dawson's Creek starred some of the biggest break-out celebrities in Hollywood, including Katie Holmes, James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, and Joshua Jackson. Wilmington appeared weekly as Capeside, Massachusetts and the series focused on four friends in a small coastal town helping each other cope with adolescence. Dawson’s Creek fans are sure to enjoy Entertainment Weekly’s interview with Kevin Williamson as he looks back at the iconic series.
