Returning for its sixth year, the highly popular Illumination Show and Exhibit draws inspiration from traditional lantern festivals, marking the transition of season’s change and year’s end-- reflecting on the past while garnering energy for the future. This year artists from across America are asked to examine their own metaphorical concept of light since luminescence often symbolizes transformation, enlightenment, or an epiphany. The resulting juried show exhibits lanterns with illumination in unusual ways with silk and other fabrics: handmade paper, recycled plastics, glass, clay, metal with the unifying quality of light.
