Differing from other historic home tours, participants are invited to “come through the back door” and get a closer look at cooking and living arrangements in wide variety of home settings. Each home has several docents present to explain its history, features, renovations and quirky items (like secret rooms!). The nine homes have a unique history with a special kitchen designed for that particular home. The homes were built between 1810 and 1935 with architectural styles ranging from Greek Revival and Second French Empire to modern luxury condo. Though the homes have all been renovated through the years, they retain many original features such as heart-of-pine floors, fireplaces, exposed brickwork, and period moldings. Each ticket purchase also receives a keepsake brochure with a short description of each home and its location.
