The Weir, a small rural Irish town’s bar, is the setting for this haunting play (with Irish folklore roots) that examines chances of missed opportunity and the loneliness that results from it. Opening with three local men settling in for a night of drinking that is interrupted when their friend enters the bar with an attractive woman from Dublin who has just moved into local haunted house. As the night (and the amount of liquor) progresses, each man starts to tell a ghostly tale, and soon what starts as innocent braggadocio between the men turns into a real fright when the woman reveals a haunted tale of her own from the past.
