This exhibit’s title is drawn from a quote in John Muir’s unpublished 1938 journals: “We all dwell in a house of one room — the world with the firmament for its roof — and are sailing the celestial spaces without leaving any track.” Elizabeth Bradford’s masterful paintings originate from an intimate observation and profound reverence for our natural environment. These selections offer an invitation to share NC Native Bradford’s journey as she explores the wonder of the natural world, the reverence she has for the environment and all of its inhabitants, and hopes to inspire a deeper awareness of our interconnectedness and responsibility for its preservation and survival.
