  • Luminaries lite the way to seven historic homes and three houses of worship all decorated in seasonal splendor.  For the first time, the afternoon into evening tour will feature the beautifully restored oldest house in Wilmington--the Mitchell-Anderson built in 1738. . Along with six private residences with different architectural styles, the Latimer House, will welcome guests to an Edwardian Christmas complete with costumed guides. The three houses of worship on this year’s tour are Chestnut Presbyterian (1858), Shiloh Baptist (1870), and St. Mark’s Episcopal Church (1871), which has recently finished a restoration. These historically African-American churches highlight the rich architectural and religious history of Wilmington’s African-American Community.
