Canoeing and Kayaking

Test your skills on the area's only disc golf course featuring a unique sandy terrain! Disc golf is played much like traditional golf but instead of a ball and clubs, players use a Frisbee. A golf disc is thrown from a tee area to a target which is the "hole".
Seafood Blues and Jazz Festival
There’s no better way to celebrate fall than to attend the 23rd Annual Pleasure Island Seafood Blues & Jazz Festival featuring internationally-renowned artists. This year's entertaining line-up will feature Grammy Award winning Jonny Lang and the up and coming sultry songstress Samantha Fish. In addition, several blues and jazz groups will play throughout the weekend on two stages.
The waters surrounding Kure Beach are home to some of the best offshore and inshore fishing in North Carolina. For those anglers looking for some competition, there are tons of fishing tournaments in the fall including the Fall Memories Fishing Tournament and the Carolina Fall King Challenge. At the annual Pleasure Island Surf Fishing Challenge, anglers can compete in the the area’s premiere land-based fishing event that offers fun for the whole family and great prizes for winners.

Take a ride on the Southport-Fort Fisher ferry leaving from the tip of Fort Fisher at the mouth of the Cape Fear River and arrive at the mainland. The ride is enjoyable with unique and beautiful views along the Cape Fear River, perfect for a scenic cruise and for a day trip and back again.
