  • Housed in the historic Palmgren-O'Quinn cottage (c. 1946), the Coastal Education Center offers visitors a uniquely coastal learning experience for all ages. This facility doubles as the southeastern regional office for the North Carolina Coastal Federation, a nonprofit organization committed to preserving and enhancing water quality. The center’s interior has art exhibits and displays with their grounds serving as a “Living Classroom” with native plants, rain gardens, stormwater reduction demonstrations, low-impact development landscaping, and hosts of other projects. Signature Events: Touch Tank Tuesdays- a chance for all ages to view and touch coastal flora and fauna (from June 5 until September 28, 2018)
