A beach vacation is often associated with summer, relaxing in the sand and time out on the water. But when in Wrightsville Beach, there is so much more to experience that makes it an ideal and memorable vacation destination for every season.

Get out and about in North Carolina’s most walkable beach town to discover activities beyond the beach this spring. From farm-and sea-to-table dining to scenic cruises and tours of barrier islands, there are plenty of unique experiences to cherish during your next getaway.

Elevated Island Bites

Island dining is far from ordinary at Wrightsville Beach. Enjoy the dish of the day at EAST Oceanfront – helmed by Jessica Cabo of FOX’s Hell’s Kitchen, Portside Bistro at 22 North, Oceanic and South Beach Grill, all of which feature the freshest ingredients available to make up a constantly changing menu. For a legendary feast, visit local favorite Tower 7 Baja Mex for flavors that will fuel your adventure, or Trolly Stop Hot Dogs where you can create your own delicacy with over 1,000 combinations. You can even take home a taste of the coast with a stop by Mott’s Channel Seafood for a cooler filled with the freshest catches.

Touring and Exploring

Discover unrivaled experiences that will surprise you at every turn. Learn the history of the island as you venture through the past for a guided or self-guided tour with the Wrightsville Beach Museum of History. Tours are available at various times throughout the year and include the Loop Through History walking tour, scavenger hunts, and Harbor Island tours. Renovations to the Ewing-Bordeaux Cottage, a circa 1924 beach cottage, are slated for completion in 2020. The cottage will serve as an extension of the Wrightsville Beach Museum of History to create the Wrightsville Beach Historic Square. Once complete, the cottage will be the permanent home of the Waterman Hall of Fame, which will celebrate the island’s watersports heritage and coastal professions.
