Wilmington, N.C. - March 13, 2025: March and April will be busy months for hosting meetings as travel industry partners in Wilmington and its island beaches welcome attendees of four conferences and events: Carolinas Recycling Association 2025 Conference (March 24-27); 2025 North Carolina Athletic Director’s Association State Conference (March 28-31); 2025 Nurse Practitioner Spring Symposium (April 13-15); and the Southeast Regional Federal Construction, Infrastructure & Environment Summit (April 22-24). All events will take place at the Wilmington Convention Center with participants and guests staying at a variety of hotels throughout the area.

On March 24-27, the Carolinas Recycling Association's 35th Annual Conference & Trade Show will bring an estimated 430 attendees to Wilmington. Representatives of recycling companies, local governments, state and federal agencies, universities and colleges, state recycling organizations and other non-profits will gather at the Wilmington Convention Center to network, learn, plan, and influence issues affecting recycling in the Carolinas and beyond.

In the days that follow, the 2025 North Carolina Athletic Director’s Association (NCADA) State Conference will take place March 28-31, with nearly 350 expected attendees. This is the largest trade show for interscholastic athletics and the largest personal and professional opportunity for athletic administrators this year. The 2025 conference marks the 52nd state conference for the N.C. Athletic Director’s Association, and the 25th to be hosted in Wilmington since 1978.

From April 13-15, the Wilmington Convention Center will welcome the 2025 Nurse Practitioner Spring Symposium. Billed as the premier event for Nurse Practitioners [NP] in the state (there is no state-level association for NPs), the Nurse Practitioner Spring Symposium is their version of an annual convention. The primary benefits for the approximately 400 attendees are continuing education credits (up to 30 credit hours), professional development, best practices from experts, and networking with other nurse practitioners. According to Chris Cowperthwaite, Director of Communications and Outreach for the North Carolina Nurses Association, “It’s all about helping NPs be better NPs and improving access to quality healthcare.”

The 2025 Southeast Regional Federal Construction, Infrastructure & Environment Summit, scheduled for April 22-24, is expected to have more than 850 attendees who will participate in educational sessions, as well as networking and trade show activities over the course of the two-day conference.

The purpose of the Summit is to bring together representatives of the Corps of Engineers, Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Fort Liberty, Marine Corps Installations East, Seymour Johnson AFB, other Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps installations, US Coast Guard, Department of Veterans Affairs, General Services Administration, other federal agencies, general and specialty contractors, designers and construction suppliers from throughout the Southeast of the United States.

“We are excited to welcome so many respected state and regional organizations and their conference attendees to Wilmington in the coming weeks,” states Kim Hufham, President/CEO for the Wilmington and Beaches Convention and Visitors Bureau. “The spring season is historically a busy time of the year for meetings and events, and we look forward to showcasing the best of the Carolina coast in a way that will inspire attendees to return for future meetings and leisure travel.”

The New Hanover County Tourism Development Authority (TDA), d/b/a Wilmington and Beaches Convention & Visitors Bureau, markets and develops the county and its communities’ leisure and group travel experiences for economic growth and quality of place.
