Welcome back. If you're wondering how our sporting venues and facilities are doing post-Florence, we have made a comeback. We're open for business and ready for you to come back, too. Wilmington and our Island Beaches have transitioned from recovery to revitalization. While Hurricane Florence is a storm that will live on in our memories, with it came a renewed sense of strength and community. We're happy to report that our area quickly rebounded and is ready to welcome sports event planners, participants and spectators back.
From pro-am volleyball tournaments to IRONMAN North Carolina and seaside soccer tournaments to cheerleading competitions, Wilmington and our Island Beaches have hosted many diverse events filled with good times. Our welcoming year-round weather, breathtaking beaches and bustling riverfront are real crowd- pleasers.
There’s something for every athlete and outdoor enthusiast here, and we’re always game with endless opportunities for all kinds of watersports activities. In addition to the variety of watersports, Wilmington’s venues and facilities are best suited for youth and amateur sporting events including soccer, softball, volleyball, rugby, baseball, basketball, tennis, triathlons, marathons, and golf.
