Marketing Operations Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
At the Wilmington and Beaches CVB, we believe great marketing happens when bold ideas are matched with exceptional execution.
As the destination marketing organization for Wilmington, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Wrightsville Beach, our team helps shape how visitors experience one of the country's most beloved coastal destinations. We're also entering an exciting new chapter, implementing a 10-year Tourism Master Plan while launching a comprehensive organizational rebrand that will influence nearly everything we do over the next year.
As our new Marketing Operations Manager, you'll help turn that vision into reality.
This is not a traditional marketing role. We're looking for an exceptional organizer, communicator, and problem-solver who thrives on bringing order to complexity.
You'll serve as the operational engine of the marketing department, helping keep projects moving, priorities aligned, and our team focused on delivering work that elevates both our destination and our organization.
What You'll Do
Lead Marketing Operations & Project Management
You'll oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of some of our department's most important initiatives, including, but not limited to:
-
Annual Visitor Guide
-
Experience Trails and visitor programs
-
Website redevelopment and digital initiatives
-
Advertising campaigns
-
Photography and video productions
-
Publications and destination collateral
Serve as the Department's Operational Hub
Think of yourself as air traffic control for the marketing team. You'll work across the department and organization to keep projects moving, communication flowing, and priorities aligned.
You'll serve as a key connector between the team, agency partners, vendors, and stakeholders. You'll help drive project timelines, workflow management, team coordination, and more. Your success means everyone knows what needs to happen, when it needs to happen, and who is responsible for making it happen.
Support a Transformational Rebrand
Over the next year, our organization will be rolling out a comprehensive rebrand that will touch nearly every aspect of our work. You'll play a key role in helping coordinate the many moving pieces involved, including:
-
Brand implementation planning
-
Asset transitions
-
Vendor coordination
-
Website and collateral updates
Manage Digital Assets
You'll become the steward of our growing library of destination content and brand resources. This includes organizing and maintaining:
-
Photography/Video assets
-
Logos
-
Brand assets
-
Project files
What Success Looks Like
-
Projects stay on schedule and within budget.
-
Teams have clarity around priorities and responsibilities.
-
Creative work moves smoothly from idea to execution.
-
Systems, processes, and workflows become increasingly efficient.
Who You Are
You are naturally organized and thrive in environments with lots of moving pieces.
You enjoy creating structure, establishing processes, and helping others stay focused and productive. You're equally comfortable working with detailed spreadsheets, project plans, creative teams, agency partners, and executive leadership.
You don't need to be the person who develops the marketing strategy. You need to be the person who ensures the strategy becomes reality.
You are proactive, resourceful, and calm under pressure. You see deadlines as commitments. You also enjoy solving problems before they become obstacles and helping teams work smarter together.
Why Join Us?
This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking team at a pivotal moment.
We're implementing a 10-year Tourism Master Plan, investing in new visitor experiences, enhancing our digital presence, strengthening community connections, and launching a comprehensive organizational rebrand that will influence nearly every project, platform, and stakeholder touchpoint we manage.
You'll help shape not only how our team works, but how Wilmington and our island beaches are experienced by visitors each year.
And while your work is largely behind the scenes, visitors and locals will experience the impact of what you do every time a campaign launches smoothly, a new experience is introduced, a publication arrives on time, a website update goes live seamlessly, or a newly reimagined brand comes to life.
