Is there anything more festive than a crisp lager, a bourbon cocktail or a spiced cider? Whether you’re looking for a cozy cocktail lounge, a laid-back bar with seasonal brews, or a brewery celebrating autumn with events and pumpkin patches, Wilmington has no shortage of places to sip the season. Here’s where to raise a glass this fall.

Cocktail Bars

The Underfront Co.
For an elevated experience, head to The Underfront Co. on Front Street. The intimate space pairs exposed wood beams with Art Deco touches, setting the stage for a perfect autumn night. Their cocktail kitchen is known for bold, layered flavors with house-made syrups, foams and bitters. Order the Twin Flame—duck fat–washed Bulleit Rye, Grand Marnier, sweet vermouth, orange bitters, flamed rosemary, flamed orange zest and an Amarena cherry served in a pecan-smoked glass. Pair it with The Bold charcuterie board for a feast of seasonal flavor.

The Ivey
Tucked into an alley downtown, The Ivey offers a classic bar setting. Their signature Hey Pumpkin cocktail blends pumpkin spice–infused vodka with coffee liqueur, Frangelico, Licor 43, cold brew and pumpkin whipped cream. Stop by on Sundays for Game Day specials with buckets of beer and free Jersey Mike’s while you catch the action.

Dram & Draught
Launching its fall menu on Oct. 3, this cocktail bar is known for friendly bartenders and a warm, inviting vibe. Try the Campfire Delight, crafted with Astral Reposado, Cantera Negra Café, graham cracker, cold brew and bitters. Or opt for a classic D&D Old Fashioned made with Green River Bourbon, brown sugar and Angostura.

The Vine
This downtown cocktail and wine bar is perfect for date night, girls’ night or a solo escape. Build your own charcuterie board and pair it with seasonal cocktails like a pumpkin spice espresso martini, pear martini or maple bacon Old Fashioned. Delicious and divine!

Bars & Lounges

Satellite Bar and Lounge
Located in a converted 1940s grocery store, this dog-friendly South Front District favorite offers rustic-meets-modern charm and a lively outdoor scene. Seasonal drinks include Wilmington Brewing’s Pretty Pumpkin, Sycamore Pumpkin Latte Blonde Ale and Red Oak Oktoberfest. Grab your pup, a taco from BlockTaco and find a seat on their patio for the ultimate weekend reset. Make sure to check their socials for a full schedule of fall events.

C-Suite Lounge
Inside the historic Cotton Exchange, this Art Deco–inspired speakeasy exudes 1920s elegance. Cozy up with a Lavender Bloom (EOD Luna Bloom, lavender, lemon and bubbles) or lean into fall flavors with a caramel martini topped with cinnamon. Catch the game here on football Sundays.

The Eagle’s Dare
Once a 1950s service station, this retro bar now hosts weekly live music and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Known for their all-out décor on holidays, make sure you don’t miss their latest fall happening. From Oct. 3 to Nov. 1, The Poisoned Apple Halloween pop-up will bring the fun with a haunted hideaway, eerie décor, themed cocktails and festive events. Be sure to check their socials for all the details.

Breweries, Taverns & Pubs

Hi-Wire Brewing
Set in the Soda Pop District, this spacious brewery pours seasonal taps like the Breakfast Maple Stout, Dark & Stormy Ale and Zirkufest Oktoberfest. Pro tip: order a Neapolitan-style pizza from Cugino Forno next door and have it delivered right to your table.

Flytrap Brewing
This brewery should be at the top of your fall bucket list! Each fall, Flytrap turns its beer garden into a pumpkin patch complete with carving contests, art shows, movie nights and free pumpkin painting every Sunday. Their Golden Orchard Ale—a blend of apple, local honey, lemongrass, ginger and turmeric—is on tap for the season. Check their calendar for food trucks and events throughout October.

Flying Machine Brewing Company
Conveniently located in Midtown along the Cross-City Trail, Flying Machine offers ample parking, indoor and outdoor seating, and a wide range of pours. Try Big Ocean Cider Co., Form and Function (a coffee Kölsch), or Electronic Fog, their hazy IPA that’s a local favorite.
