The Pointe at Barclay

Wilmington's newest retail center located in midtown, The Pointe at Barclay, is under development offering retail, dining and entertainment options. Open now, watch the latest in film at The Pointe 14 theaters, dine at Tavern on 17th and Zócalo Street Food & Tequila, and visit Far From France for imported chocolates, daily baked bread, and many other sweets and savories. 


Space Place Center at the Cape Fear Museum of History and Science

Space Place, a space-themed learning center inspired and modeled after the International Space Station, was designed and fabricated in-house with help from GE employees and features a robotic arm, real-time visuals, and information about the International Space Station's location and how astronauts sleep in space. Visitors are also able to engage in several rotating activities.

New Ways to Defy Gravity

Defy Gravity, a cutting edge trampoline sports park, recently added Euro walls, new Olympic trampolines and a swinging trapeze.


Formerly known as Wilmington History Tours, Wilmington.tours now offers personally guided tours by reservation in addition to its mobile app tours. New tours include the Pub Crawl Wilmington, where visitors will learn about Wilmington’s distinguished history with alcohol and the establishments that serve it.

Restaurants and Breweries

Wrightsville Beach Brewery

Enjoy craft beer served with a full menu of fresh and local seafood, including local oysters, both inside the brewpub or outside in the beer garden at Wrightsville Beach Brewery.

Waterman's Brewing Company

The newest brewery in the Wilmington area, Waterman's Brewing Company, is now open to enjoy craft brews, ciders and wine in a coastal casual atmosphere. Make your way to sip some suds after a day on the water, located just before the bridge to Wrightsville Beach.

Anne Bonny's Bar and Grill

Dine afloat Anne Bonny's Bar and Grill, a fast-casual outdoor dining spot, located at the foot of Dock Street on the Riverwalk in Historic Downtown Wilmington. Sit and sip and enjoy a premium seat for sunset viewing and live entertainment on the weekends.


California cuisine mixes with Carolina flair at Cruz. Enjoy a fresh menu in a casual coastal atmosphere located in Wilmington just before the drawbridge to Wrightsville Beach.


Enjoy a colorful and unique dining experience at Savorez restaurant in downtown Wilmington. Latin American-inspired dishes are created with local ingredients and high-quality fare along with creative cocktails and desserts.

Riverfront Eateries

Blackfinn Ameripub is now open at Port City Marina in Wilmington and features classic American house-made food, craft beers and cocktails with a fantastic view of sunsets and the Cape Fear River. Vida Cantina, located next door to Blackfinn, is scheduled to open in 2017 featuring evolved Mexican cuisine and handcrafted cocktails.


Hampton Inn Wilmington Downtown

The Hampton Inn Wilmington Downtown is now open. This new hotel offers 92 rooms and is located within walking distance of the scenic Riverwalk, shops, cafes and the Wilmington Convention Center.

The Top Shelf: A Literary Loft

A new literary-themed vacation rental is located on the second floor of a historic building in downtown Wilmington. The Top Shelf, “Wilmington’s hippest retreat for the literati set,” celebrates North Carolina authors in its décor and sleeps up to 5 adults or 4 adults and two children.
